How to Evaluate Your Private Investigator

It is suggested that you meet the private investigator in his office and not outside.  There are some private investigators that transfer or forward landline calls to their mobile phones, or some do not even operate a proper office.

You also have to make sure that the Private investigator firm that is conducting your case are insured so you will not have to worry and also make sure that your private investigator has a valid license.  The private investigator must also have a valid license to operate and this license must be displayed in his office at all times.

Of course, you also have to find ways to make sure that the private investigator has many years of experience in private investigation so your case can be conducted with ease.  To be a good private investigator, you need years of experience.  Always make sure that you check the contract to see that it indicates the job scope you are engaging the private investigator for.

You also have to ensure that this private investigator that you hired do not just get information or buy information from the Internet or search companies.  There are some Private investigators who post searches which are provided by data companies such as corporate searches, International Searches/Personal Searches, Litigation/Writ of Summons Searches, etc., which could be obtainable easily from organisations such as Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), DP Information Group, Info Asia, etc.

Also, make sure that the private investigator you hired can testify in a court of law. Ask him if he has testified and how often he has done so.
